At Reel Wellbeing, we make it easy for you to reconnect with nature, find community, and feel better—one cast at a time. Whether you’re a complete beginner or have some experience, our friendly sessions are designed to support mental health through the simple joys of angling. From signing up to showing up, everything is taken care of. Just bring yourself—we’ll provide the rest.
How does it work?
We offer a simple path into peaceful outdoor sessions, always free and open to all. Here’s how:
Let us know you'd like to join a session. You can use our simple online form or contact us directly — there's no commitment, and no pressure.
Once sessions begin in your area, we’ll contact you with everything you need to know — time, location, what to expect, and how to prepare (though you won’t need to bring anything).
Whether you want to fish, sit quietly, chat with others, or just spend time outdoors — you’ll be welcomed exactly as you are. No experience needed. No pressure to talk. Just peaceful support in a safe and natural setting.
If it feels good, come again. Our sessions are open, relaxed, and designed to help you reconnect with nature, community, and yourself — one visit at a time.
Reel Wellbeing is a community initiative that offers free and supportive fishing sessions to improve mental health and wellbeing. We provide everything you need — equipment, guidance, and a calm, welcoming environment.
Not at all! Our sessions are designed for complete beginners as well as those with some experience. You’ll be supported by friendly coaches and volunteers every step of the way.
Just visit our registration page, fill in a few details, and select a session near you. It only takes a few minutes, and we’ll send you everything you need to know before your first visit.
No — all our sessions are completely free to attend. We believe that mental health support should be accessible to everyone.
Just yourself! We’ll provide all the fishing equipment, seating, and even refreshments. If you have any personal needs, just let us know when registering.
Anyone aged 18+ who is looking for support with their mental wellbeing. Whether you’re feeling low, isolated, stressed, or just need a break — you’re welcome here.
Sessions are held at peaceful, accessible fishing venues across Somerset. Locations are chosen to be calm, private, and easy to get to.
That’s totally normal. Many of our participants come on their own and leave with new friends. Our team is here to make you feel safe, supported, and included.
